Move to Aldeburgh

After more than forty years based in Halifax, West Yorkshire, Jane and I are settling into our new home in Aldeburgh at Northfield Court. Tennis, golf and fishing are the first things to take hold for us, and we are trying out some new routines.

I am halfway through an enjoyable series of lessons with Kitty McWhirter, the tennis coach at ThorpenessTennis Club, and literally finding my feet again. Saxmundham and Aldeburgh clubs are also near and I have just been in touch with Matt Last, their coach. Jane has had golf sessions at Thorpeness and Aldeburgh golf clubs, with still more clubs to try in the area.

Sam, at Saxmundham fishing tackle shop, has been very helpful and I have already had a few days fishing from the beach at Aldeburgh near the Martello tower. I have promised to bring home a sea bass before too long!

We haven’t started to look for musical activities yet other than as audience members. We have booked a few concerts at Snape Maltings so far, and we are going to the theatre in Aldeburgh this evening to see Fallen Angels by Noel Coward. There are a number of music groups around the area and we are looking forward to finding out more about them as we move into autumn.

All looking good so far!
