Composed in 2021, Sinfonietta “A Christmas Carol” for Narrator and Orchestra is based on the story of Scrooge and Tiny Tim from the Charles Dickens novel A Christmas Carol.

PROGRAMME NOTE
Join Mr Scrooge on a musical adventure as he navigates his past, present, and future with four ghosts on Christmas Eve.

The music, together with the narration, conjures up images of a busy scene in Victorian London. The narration, adapted from the original by Margaret Killian, is blended into an orchestral soundscape that takes us on Mr Scrooge’s journey of enlightenment and transformation.

The structure of the music and narration follows the descriptive headlines added to the 1868 edition of Dickens's work as follows:
